See what needs attention
Open Follow-ups to review overdue work, items due today and upcoming tasks. Check the patient, due date and reason before acting.
Tasks can relate to a return visit, a report or another action recorded by your clinic. Search by patient or follow-up, filter by clinician, or select Overdue or Due today. Open the task title for its details and contact history; the patient name opens the chart. Use the up and down arrow keys between task links.
Record what happened
Select Record outcome, choose the result and add a useful note. Record an unsuccessful contact attempt honestly rather than treating it as completed contact.
Use the task’s scheduling or completion actions to reflect the actual next step.
Understand reminders
Email reminders depend on a patient email address, recorded agreement and the configured delivery service. Creating a task does not prove an email was delivered.
If a patient withdraws agreement, update it in the patient record.
Write an outcome another colleague can use
A good outcome tells the next person what happened and what remains to be done. “No answer at 11:15; try again tomorrow afternoon” is more useful than “called”. Record only what actually happened and keep the note relevant to the task.
If contact did not succeed, use the appropriate outcome and leave the next step visible. If the patient has arranged a return visit, check the appointment before recording that the follow-up is resolved.
Review overdue and due-today work at the beginning of the clinic day. At handover, make sure unfinished tasks contain enough context for the next colleague to continue without repeating the same call.
